Coming this Holiday Season:
Mildred's Merry Market

Saturday, December 13 | 10AM - 3PM

MMM for JAC.png

Step back in time this holiday season and experience the charm of the 1700s at Mildred’s Merry Market, hosted at the historic Happy Retreat in Downtown Charles Town.

Inspired by the markets and gatherings of Charles and Mildred Washington’s era, this festive event transforms Happy Retreat into a scene from centuries past. Guests will stroll through the historic home visiting with artisans, makers, and merchants offering handcrafted wares, art and décor, fine foods, and unique holiday gifts.

The air will be filled with the sound of carolers and period music, the scent of mulled cider and baked breads, and the warmth of neighbors coming together to celebrate the season much as they would have in the early days of Charles Town. Costumed vendors and volunteers will bring the colonial spirit to life, inviting guests to slow down, shop local, and share in traditions both old and new.

Join us in honoring the heritage of our town and the season—where history, community, and holiday magic meet.
